Hayk did a wonderful job for us -- he quickly found a truck that was available to pick up our car in New Hampshire and drop it off in San Diego. The trip was expected to take 7-8 days, but we received a phone call after just 4 days, saying our car was ready to be delivered! Due diligence when shipping your car
To begin, you never want to release your vehicle to anyone who doesn't have at least some track record on the internet. Let's face it, your vehicle is valuable to you, so a little research into the history of a company will help you at least determine that your trucking company is properly licensed and has some customer reviews. Many won't tell you, but most, if not all, the auto transport companies you'll find online are brokers, and not actual truckers. The reason is that a trucker's full-time job is operating his truck, and they don't advertise or market their businesses. In fact, every trucker uses a tool called a "load-board" where brokers list their customers' vehicles, and the truck drivers have an easy to search tool to find vehicles on their route.
Your auto transport broker
More important than your broker having good ratings, your driver should also, after all, they're the ones hauling your vehicle thousands of miles and not your broker. As mentioned before, the drivers use the load-board (database), and there is only one load-board for the car hauling industry, called Central Dispatch. While Central Dispatch is not accessible by the general public, it is by us. To earn your full confidence that not just anybody will be assigned your vehicle to transport, we forward you the trucker's profile sheet with their ratings on the load-board. We only assign your vehicle to truck drivers who have no history of late cancellations, late pickups/deliveries, or even damaging a vehicle.
Your schedule when shipping your car
We generally ask our customers for a pickup window of 1-5 business days. This means that from the day your vehicle is ready to be shipped, we'll send a truck driver no later than the 5th business day. Same-day pickups are sometimes available but often come with a higher transport rate. The reason for the price increase is because we have to offer the drivers more money to forgo all the other vehicles available for transport and drive straight to yours. For more popular routes, a price increase is not usually necessary given the abundance of truck driver availability in that area.
