Hayk did a wonderful job for us -- he quickly found a truck that was available to pick up our car in New Hampshire and drop it off in San Diego. Generally speaking, when we quote a price we are quoting for a 5 business day pickup window. This means from the time you tell us your vehicle is ready for pickup, we'll need a 5-day window wherein we'll send a trucker to your location to retrieve your car. This window can be before, after, or surrounding your requested pickup timeframe. Frankly, the more flexible you are with your timeframe, generally, the less expensive your move is.
How your schedule affects your auto transport rate
It is important that you know that your vehicle is in competition for truck space with other vehicles traveling along your route. If you want your vehicle to have priority over all other vehicles the driver has a choice in booking, you'll have to consider the price which other customers are offering for that space on the driver's trailer. Consider if you were a truck driver, and you run a weekly route from Los Angeles to Bakersfield. If you have one space left on your trailer and there are two customers needing your truck space, obviously you will pick up the vehicle of the customer offering more money.
All things considered, when we quote you your price, we make sure that we're quoting a rate that ensures a truck driver will be retrieving your vehicle within your timeframe of availability.
Get a lower car shipping rate
Generally speaking, the larger the window of pickup you provide us, your price will be less expensive than of a 5 business day pickup window. However, there is only so low you can go wherein no truck driver will be interested in your haul. A rule of thumb is that for a pickup window of 1-21 days, the price will only be a marginal difference. Again, this is because we can only offer so low a rate to the driver below that they will not be interested at all in hauling your vehicle.
Can I ship my car same day?
Remember that your vehicle is always in competition for space on a trailer. Having said that, if there are truck drivers active and available in your area today, we'll have to offer more money than the current highest bid for truck space in the market. This will ensure that your vehicle gets priority over all other customers, and the driver will be enticed to retrieve your vehicle first above all others. Other than offering about $50-100 dollars more than the highest paying vehicle on the same route as yours, as your broker, we do not have any additional charges for this service. Keep in mind, however, if there are no available trucks in the area, we can offer the truck driver a million dollars to retrieve your vehicle today. But if there are no trucks available, even a million-dollar tip won't get the job done.
When will my vehicle be delivered?
Consider that bad weather and road conditions may cause a delay in the delivery of your vehicle. Although, it's never in a driver's best interest to hold on to your vehicle longer than expected. Keep in mind that truckers would much rather deliver your vehicle on time and move on to the next car to fill their available space. Having said that, below are some average transit times according to distances traveled.
